Default Tainted Flesh Support Hero

I'm at work right now so I couldn't test the build yet, but I think it could prove to be really effective. Give Olias or Master of Whispers

[skill]Tainted Flesh[/skill] [skill]Consume Corpse[/skill] [skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill] [skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

Death Magic: 12+1+3
Soul Reaping: 12+1

Heroes will try to keep Tainted Flesh on their whole team all the time so they are immune to the disease they spread.

The only problem is energy management but with 16 in Death Magic Tainted Flesh will stay up 46 seconds at only 5 energy cost.

Consume Corpse gives 21 energy, heals 105 points and teleports the hero right in the middle of the battle, where he'll get attacked most and thus spreads disease just fine. So with an energy cost of 10 it gives a bonus of 11 energy.

Signet of Lost Souls gives another 7 energy points and heals 88 health.

So the hero needs 40 energy maintain Tainted Flesh on all team members and gets 18 as soon as an enemy dies plus the energy gain from Soul Reaping. Consume Corpse will be ready for next use immediately and the Signet after 8 seconds. So it shouldn't be a problem at all to keep Tainted Flesh up.

Of course this wouldn't work with a minion master in the team because the build relies on heavy use of corpses. But if I go solo I usually use Zhed and Sousuke as Searing Flames spammer anyway so this should work just fine.

Olias/MoW are perfectly capable of maintaining TF on the whole party while also keeping a full compliment of minions up.

i actually tried this out briefly and it seems to work not too badly. i only did a little bit of bot based pvp. you really need more melee characters. maybe sub in [skill]Death Nova[/skill] in for [skill]Animate Bone Fiend[/skill] for some killing since there is a bit of a lack of decent healing for minions. just a thought. someone else try it and let me know how it works.

Personally I'd rather bring something other than minions, since the build lacks any support skills for them (or a MM elite). Stuff like [skill]Bitter Chill[/skill] or [skill]Putrid Explosion[/skill] or [skill]Well of the Profane[/skill].

i actually sub'd in [skill]Death Nova[/skill] for fiends and it seems to worth rather well. 3 melee with [skill]tainted flesh[/skill] worked pretty well. someone else needs to do some testing because my testing isn't very good. any other suggestions? i'm willing to try more skills and see what works.

Disease only spread between creatures of the same type. So for majority of the PvE areas, you can achieve the same effect with Rotting Flesh, thus saving the elite slot for something else.

I really don't see the point of Tainted Flesh in PvE... I've used it a couple of times... but its no better than Rotting Flesh. The MM already spends most of its time spamming Death Nova, you don't need it to be spamming Tainted Flesh on your entire party too.

And really, a hero MM build without Death Nova is a crap build. Heroes excel at putting death nova on the right targets for a nice explosion, can be funny to watch vs Triple Chop (the poor brotherhood knight).

If you've ever played tainted the spamming of a 5 e skill has very little effect, though I'd wonder if the heroes could use it right.
And your one mm hero using all the e-mangement is pretty pointless, I'd have to agree that death nova is an awesome skill to use, but a tainted flesh should never need 3-4 slots just for emangement... thats insane. Consume corpse does just fine.

To me the true power of tainted flesh on a hero has nothing to do with disease.

Because a monk hero will cancel a maintained enchantment without it being disabled, you must br the monk then manually cast bonds. If these enchantments end up being shattered/ripped/drained there's no way to get them back on. Tainted flesh provides a spamable 5e enchantment that olias/mow will reapply within milliseconds of it being removed giving you the perfect protection for your bonds - a function well worth the elite slot. The disease, imunity to disease and fuel for dwayna's kiss are just gravy.

tainted is used pretty well by mow. and i'll be honest the e.management helps a lot. and it'd probably be a little better if bone minions was used. has any of the people tearing it apart actually tried it? it works well in a bunch of NF places. i think its worth a shot to at least try before you rip into it

I've used it as well and Olias never seemed to lack energy and very rarely died either, I dont always use it but I dont see anything wrong with it either plus it gives Olias something to do when he's not got any minions to tend to
